Our Story

Logically Studios was founded by filmmaker and producer CJ Howey with one clear mission: to break open the gatekept world of film and give real opportunity to the people who are usually overlooked.

After years of building projects from the ground up, CJ saw the same pattern repeat itself across the industry, talent everywhere, but access almost nowhere. The film world often feels reserved for those with the right connections, cities, or last names. Logically Studios was created to change that.

Every Logically Studios production is designed to be an entry point. Our projects offer hundreds of real roles to first-time actors and actresses, people who have never stepped on a set, never had representation, and never been given a shot. CJ believes the next great star or storyteller could be anyone, anywhere. They just need a door that’s actually open.

By producing ambitious, cinematic stories outside the traditional system, Logically Studios proves that powerful film and television can be built by communities—not corporations. Each project becomes an opportunity engine for performers, crew, and creatives who are ready but overlooked.

But the mission goes beyond making movies.

CJ’s vision is to build a real film ecosystem in Maine. The state has the locations, the talent, and the stories to become a true production hub, but its current tax incentive holds it back. Logically Studios is actively working to push Maine’s film incentive to 20%, making it competitive with major production states and attractive to outside studios. This change would bring more productions, more jobs, and real career paths to Maine creatives—allowing people to build futures in film without leaving home.

Donations and community support fuel this movement. They help fund grants for local filmmakers, provide access to resources, and empower new voices to turn ideas into real productions.

Logically Studios isn’t just about making content.
It’s about changing who gets a chance—and where that chance exists.
